So, you've created your blog; now what? I know it can be pretty intimidating to start your blog. Still, once you do, it becomes easier as you go. I suggest blogging about the content you're passionate about, also known as finding your niche. Creating content for your blog is much easier if you're blogging about topics you enjoy. You will likely have authority within the space because you understand the market.Let's walk through some steps to help you with the best practices in blogging.
Find the right niche for your blog
Let's take a step back; it's time to find a niche. First, we need to establish what your passions are. I suggest making a list of the top things that make you inspired in life. Once you determine those, narrow it down. Determine which topics could lead to business opportunities.
After you've decided what you'll be writing about, it's time to create Authority in the space. Find Facebook groups related to the content and share your insight with people in those groups. Use their questions and concerns to guide the topics for your blog posts.
It's also important to find high-demand keywords through Google search console or other search tools and then follow Focus your content around those topics. The more demand and search, the better the topics are; you should write about them in your blog.
Build a content strategy
One way to help with your blogging is to start with a strategy. A strategy can create a clear picture of your goals. It will help you map out what is necessary to achieve those goals. 78% of marketers thought that their blogs performed better when they paired the content with a strategy.
However, I know it can feel intimidating when you see words like content strategy, especially if you’re unfamiliar with marketing terms. Here’s a quick breakdown of what your strategy should include.
Be sure to build out your target audience. These are the people you intend to reach with your content. If you want business owners to read your content, ensure your writing is professional and concise. Your target audience should include key demographics, such as age, title, and location.
Your strategy should also include the primary goals of your blog. Was it to grow an email list or sell affiliate products? It’s important to decide what it is you are trying to achieve. It will make the way you construct your blogs and content much easier.
Use metrics to track your performance and see if you are achieving your goals properly. These are traffic to your website, newsletter subscriptions, and more.
Establish a posting schedule and post consistently
Creating a content schedule is one way to ensure you’re connecting with your subscribers the most. Your audience will know precisely when to expect a new blog from you and will be much more likely to read it. Of course, creating a schedule that works best for you is important. If posting twice a week works in the beginning, start there. You have time to scale up over time.
Create enticing titles
A clickable title is one of the most important pieces to your blog. You'll only get clicks if your title is exciting or makes the content seem interesting. I know you spend a lot of time writing and creating your content. So, spend some time on your titles. If you're feeling lost, check out magazines related to your niche. Look at what titles are on the front page. Use these as inspiration to help your creative process.
